Requirements for Joining Troop 152
To join a Boy Scout Troop, the Boy Scouts of America Guidelines state:
- Be a boy who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old.
- Complete a Boy Scout application and health history signed by your Parent or Guardian.
- Find a Scout Troop near your home.
- Repeat the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Demonstrate the Scout Sign, Salute, and Handshake.
- Demonstrate tying the Square Knot.
- Understand and agree to live by the Scout Oath or Promise, Law, Motto, Slogan, and the Outdoor Code.
- Describe the Scout Badge.
- With your Parent or Guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide.
- Participate in a Scoutmasters Conference.
To Join Troop 152, a boy must:
- Be a boy who has completed the fifth grade and is 11 years old, or has earned the Arrow of Light Award but is under 18 years old.
- Complete a Boy Scout Joining Application.
- Complete the Troop 152 Activity Permission Form and a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record, signed by a Parent or Guardian.
You son has now become a member of Troop 152, and ready to begin his Scouting adventures.
At this point in time, the Scout can begin earning his Scout Rank Badge:
- Repeat the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Demonstrate the Scout Sign, Salute, and Handshake.
- Demonstrate tying the Square Knot.
- Understand and agree to live by the Scout Oath or Promise, Law, Motto, Slogan, and the Outdoor Code.
- Describe the Scout Badge.
- With his Parent or Guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide found in the front of the BSA Scout Handbook
- Participate in a Scoutmasters Conference.
